A Boy and His Kite: Here's What The Unreal Engine Is Capable Of Rendering In Real Time

Amazing demonstration of the real-time rendering power of game engine software, Unreal Engine 4. It's actually a rather good short film as well.

I'd be interested to know if the video title is literally true, i.e. was this entire film rendered in real time? Or was each shot separately rendered and then the complete film assembled in a video editor? I suspect the latter but I'm open to hearing from anyone who knows the software or the background to this video.
