Week 2 - Jan. 18

Workshop - Carla Veldman: Alternative Project Development and Funding 
Animation filmmaker and Sheridan grad Carla Veldman will give a workshop on making films post-school. In addition to showing her work process and films, Carla will cover how she gets projects off the ground, finding funding, time management, and what is necessary when starting off down this path.

Week 3 - Jan. 25
Lecture:  Mercury Filmworks - "How to Be Successful in the Animation Industry"

- Jerry Popowich; (VO, Chief Creative Officer);
- Jefferson Allen (Head of Studio);
- Sebastian Stark (Location Designer);
- Sheridan grads Pierre Vanderweerd (Character Designer) & Naomi Edwards (Animator)

The crew from Mercury Filmworks will talk about making connections, being your own advocate, managing your budget, and finding time to create your own art while working in studio.


Workshop:Portfolio Critique, with artists from Mercury Filmworks. 4th Year Studio, 2-4 PM.

Lecture: Spotting Session with U of T Musicians
4th Year Studio, 12-3. We will begin this event with a quick introduction in J102, and then proceed to the 4th Year Studio for individual meetings with your composers!
